Canopy Health Score™
A practical condition-management score designed to help petroleum operators compare canopy assets, identify priorities and track change over time.
What the score measures
The Canopy Health Score organizes eight visible condition categories into a 0–100 management score: structure, decking, fascia, drainage, lighting, corrosion, appearance and safety. The system gives heavier weight to structure and safety because deficiencies in those areas can have greater operational significance.
Structure
Visible framing condition including columns, beams, purlins and related components.
Water Management
Drainage and conditions that can contribute to leaks, staining and corrosion.
Envelope & Appearance
Decking, fascia, finishes and the visible condition customers experience at the site.
Safety & Lighting
Observed safety-related concerns and lighting condition included in the overall management picture.
Why a portfolio needs a common language
Without a repeatable system, every canopy problem becomes a separate judgment call. A common score makes it easier to compare locations, prioritize inspection follow-up and support capital planning. It also makes trend analysis possible: a canopy can be compared against its own prior inspections instead of being judged only by a current photograph.
The Canopy Health Score is a condition-management tool. It is not an engineering certification and does not replace engineering analysis where professional engineering judgment is required.
What happens after the score
